CABIN FEVER CONSTRUCTION CRISIS.

I've started work on the wonderful free download by Carl Stoelzel, it's to accompany Crooked Dice's 7ombie TV I believe, anyway it's my first go at card modelling and no amputated digits yet.

As it was my first attempt at card modelling I only printed it on to regular paper, figuring that mistakes would be made and it would be a waste of tidy paper. I wasn't wrong..

I decided to stick the floor to 5mm foamboard for "strength and stability" reasons. The rest of the templates were stuck to cereal packets as I had no mounting board. All this was accomplished without reading the instructions. The internal walls were stuck to slightly thicker card from a cat biscuit box. Again without reading the instructions. What could go wrong.

Well after reading the instructions I realised what I did wrong, that's OK I thought the walls will be extra sturdy, hmm. Folding the card over, even after scoring was challenging but not impossible. However sticking the floor to the foamboard left an unsightly white tab around the base of the walls. Bugger! Never mind I'll sort that out with something.

The best bit came, when after the rest had gone relatively smoothly, I put the end walls on and realised that there had been some kind of printer malfunction and one of the walls had printed out a little short. Arse.

I can't wait to do the roof, as I stuck that to foamboard as well. Great! Oh well back to the drawing board.

That's all the fun and frollicks for this time. 'til next time do as the DUDE and "take it easy".

I'VE BEEN LIEBSTER-ED. MORE WELCOMES.

I'm a little shocked and overwhelmed to be the recipient of anything, never mind an award. WOW.
I must thank the very generous Michael Awdry of 28mm victorian warfare fame for my nomination.
Just as my posting was becoming somewhat erratic, this will go some way to making me pull my finger out and try harder.

As Michael tweaked his Liebster, I would like to tweak mine and do something that Lord Siwoc did with his. That is instead of me come up with eleven things about my self, I'll ask you to set the questions. Please keep it to two questions maximum each and read the other questions so that repetition is avoided. I'll even try and tell the truth.

The rules,
1. Copy and paste the award on your blog, remembering to link back to the blogger who has given it to you.

2. Pass on the award to your top 5 blogs with less than 200 followers by leaving a comment on one of their posts to notify them that they have won the award and listing them on your own blog.

3. Sit back and bask in the warm fuzzy feeling that comes with knowing you have made someone's day.

4. There is, of course, no obligation to pass this onto anyone else, but it's nice if you take the time to do so. Think of the positive karma dude. Paying it forward and all that shit man.

My five nominee's (this is the lazy man's Liebster, after all) will be in no particular order:-

1. Mathyoo @ The Necroleadicon. On an insurgent trip at the moment, cool sculpts too and zombies sometimes.

2. Nobody667 @ Game Mayhem. Excellent ATZ Batreps.

3. Irqan @ Plastic Zombie. ATZ set in the 1940's. Very nice.

4. Zombie Ad @ The Lead Will Walk The Earth. Cool stuff with Dust Tactics.

5. Dave VanDam @ Round Dave's. Zombies and other cool stuff.

In other news I have to get the welcome wagon back out of the shed, to give my latest followers Tony Maher and tsilverthorn a big BZA welcome. WELCOME TONY. WELCOME TSILVERTHORN. Can't find any blogs for you guys, let me know if you have one. I hope you enjoy the journey, it could take a while.

That's all the fun and games for now dudes and dudettes, 'til next time try and do as the DUDE does and "take it easy".

THE HORDE GROWS #2

Things haven't been too clever here at the bunker this last week. We have all had a dose of "Delhi Belly", something must have got into the MRE's. This has resulted in little painting getting accomplished, but I have managed to leave the toilet long enough to take some photos of my slowly growing horde. It now stands at 117 zombies painted.

Without further ado I present to you the horde so far.
THEY'RE COMING TO GET YOU BARBARA.
A shot of them all together. They look quite small at the back.

THE ABOMINATION SURROUNDED BY HIS MINIONS.

Close-ups of various parts of the horde.

SOME OF THE ZOMBIES AT THE BACK.

Another close-up of a different part of the horde.

ZOMBIES AT THE FRONT.
BZA's offical photographer said this low angled shot was the new black.

MY VERY OWN DUDE.

Sheldon extended the hand of friendship and gave me Gary the Misfit and his zombivore version, I was a little overcome and almost shed a tear. I then rather ham-fistedly tried to thank him but ended up grabbing the hand of friendship and twisting it behind friendship's back until friendship said uncle. Metaphorically. I'm so good with people.

MY VERY OWN ZOMBIE DUDE.

This massive gesture cannot go unrecognised, Sheldon I'm making you an honorary Dude. Arise your dudeness. It would be remiss of me at this point to omit Vampifan, his gift was also greatly appreciated. Bryan you too have been offically made an honorary Dude. Arise your dudeness.

Hopefully normal service can resume Sunday. That's it for now dudes and dudettes, so until the next time do as the DUDE does and "take it easy".

FRIDAY NIGHT SPECIAL.

CHUCK, MOMMA'S BOY.

I'd like to take this opportunity to showcase one of the WNI(Wednesday Night Irregulars) stalwarts painting skills. These Zombicide survivors are the work of Sheldon (name changed to protect the innocent?)  One of the most regular irregulars is our Sheldon. The rest of us think he's got some kind of OCD thing going on, he is our resident analist. All that aside he's a damn fine painter.

These, well the not Nick Frost guy came with his survivor pack #3, which he recently purchased from the interweb.

OBVIOUSLY NOT ED.FROM SHAUN OF THE DEAD.

I believe he said that the shirt was Necrotic Flesh and the trousers were Ironhull Grey, both Army Painter colours. I did mention to him about putting Got Wood? on the T-shirt, he said he'd think about it.
FRED THE TRADER.

And this is where his OCD thing kicks in. He said he couldn't play the not Nick Frost figure without the not Simon Pegg figure. Another interweb purchase later and he had him as well. Not 100% but I think he said his trousers were Iron hull Grey as well.
OBVIOUSLY NOT SHAUN. FROM SHAUN OF THE DEAD.

As Sheldon couldn't split them up, neither should I. Both together as I'm sure they will be played.
BACK TOGETHER AGAIN.

Actually, Sheldon test drove Fred the Trader( not Shaun) on Wednesday night, two words, combat monster. I'm pretty sure we will be seeing him in action again soon. We didn't get to give Chuck Momma's Boy( not Ed) a run out, something we'll probably rectify next week.
RIDING OFF INTO THE SUNSET. OUR WORK HERE IS DONE.

I don't know how often this will re-occur, depends on Sheldon's progress I suppose.
That's it for now dudes and dudettes, 'til the next time heed the DUDE and "take it easy".

Cheers Adam.

ABOMINATION,MASSIVE THANKS, MORE WELCOMES.

Right, first things first. It has come to my attention that my humble little blog has clocked over four thousand page views. When I started this, in January this year I never expected anything like this sort of response, it was purely to document my zombie gaming progress. To my surprise I came across an online community of zombie gaming enthusiasts, who have been very welcoming and very generous with their comments.

So I offer all of you who stop by to read a big thank you. An even bigger thanks goes to all those who take the time to comment on the nonsense that I put out. I find the comments inspire me to carry on posting, especially through the times when it seems like too much hassle or downright laziness takes over.

On top of the thanks, I have a few welcomes to get to. So without further ado let's crack on and get the welcome wagon back out of the shed . This time we welcome Brummie to the bunker. Welcome Brummie! He runs Brummie's Wargaming Blog. Go check it out, some beautifully painted figures, zombies and  post apocalypse feature heavily.
Our second welcome today goes to Billy Brand. Welcome Billy. I can't find a blog for you, let me know if you have one.
I would welcome my newest follower, if I knew who it was but they are not appearring on my follower list. Whoever you are welcome.

After completing the first tray of zombies for Zombicide, I thought I would take a little break and give myself a little reward. So I painted the Abomination that came with season one.

He's a real monster of a figure. I've taken the colours off the box, which is something I rarely do but I like the way he turned out. He's not getting a name, he's just The Abomination.
Rrrrrrraaaaaaaarrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhh!
BZA's official photographer decided to change the backdrop.

Yes, I know. Too lazy to take it off.

Here's a pic to show some size comparision between the Abomination, a Fatty and a walker. Like I said he's a bit of a beast.
Abomination, Fatty and Walker.

These are some resin zombie heads my son brought me back from a little break he took with his friends. A really nice present and I use one as our first player token when we play Zombicide.
My son brought these back from "sunny" Porthcawl.

Well thanks for dropping by, that's it for today dudes and dudettes. Until next time heed the DUDE and "take it easy".

FIRST TRAY FINISHED. ZOMBICIDE SEASON 1. BATCH 8

YIPEE! I've finished my first tray of zombies for Zombicide season 1. Shit! Another one to go, but I'm past halfway so it's all good. This has felt like a long, long process but it's only 32 zombies. That means only 32 left to go. Only 32.
MEET THE LAST OF TRAY ONE.

The sculpts are the same as you've seen before, 2 runners and 2 walkers. For a limited number of sculpts they are very nice and despite my moaning I have enjoyed painting them.
USUAL BACK SHOT. I'VE RUN OUT OF ARSE JOKES.

Enough celebrating, on with the introductions. As usual from Left to Right: Kicking us off today is Alwyn, he loves the lonelyness of long distance running. Next in line is the beautiful Annwvyn, a cosmetic counter cutie. Following her is Ianto. I've been meaning to comment on this sculpt for a while now, who wears a vest with shoes FFS, apart from pikies, it must be a French thing. Last in line today is Mabon, a recreational jogger.

Well that's all I've got for this time, until the next time dudes and dudettes, listen to the DUDE and "take it easy".

ZOMBICIDE SEASON 1 BATCH 7. MORE WELCOMES.

Will wonders never cease? More followers to my humble blog. Let's get the welcome wagon back out of the shed. A big BZA welcome goes out to Hobbyworker, another just as big is required for Baconfat. I know two more at once, I don't know where to put myself. Hobbyworker runs the Hobbyworker blog, go check it out there's some great stuff. Mainly historical but 20+ Zombie posts too. Baconfat runs the Baconfat Log blog ,very nice work and eclectic too.
Tell them Bob said Hi and Thanks.

Let's push on. This is the final line of my first tray, it feels like wading through treacle now. These and the next batch have a different skin tone. Base colour is Shadow Grey (Old GW).  Wet brush highlight of Codex Grey (Old GW). Some have had Leviathan Purple wash (Old GW) in the shadows for a little mottling.

FOUR MORE STRAGGLERS STUMBLE IN TO JOIN THE HORDE.
Again you've all seen these sculpts before. Walker, Fatty and two more Walkers.
THE USUAL REAR SHOT. SEE I'M STILL PAINTING THE BACKS OF THEM.
Ok. Now we need some introductions. From Left to Right as usual: First up is the beautiful Kigva, an ex-teacher. Next we have Big Bleddyn, a mechanic. Following along is Gwynfor, a housing association inspector. Finally for today is Tecwyn, an IT consultant.

Talking of IT ,thanks to everyone who gave me advice on laying out these posts, as you can see I do listen sometimes.

Well that's all I've got for you today dudes and dudettes, gotta run WNI are coming to kill zombies.
Remember, listen to the DUDE'S advice and "take it easy".

ZOMBICIDE SEASON 1. BATCH 6. A WELCOME.

Before we stumble onwards I would first like to extend a warm BZA welcome to my latest follower Hybrid Horde. Welcome. Hybrid Horde runs The Walking Lead blog. (Great name by the way.) You should check it out, he's done some cool stuff, love his conversions "The Eaten".

Ok then, let's get this show on the road. Managed to finish the third line of my first tray of Zombicide Season 1. These guys like the last ones were painted with old GW Elf Flesh and washed with Leviathan Purple another old GW product.
Four more zombies shuffle in to join the evergrowing horde.
Not much more to say about these guys as you've seen all the sculpts from this set several times already. 3 walkers and a runner.

Usual rear shot. Liliwen's cheeky thong pic.
On with the introductions, Left to Right as usual. First one today is Liliwen a tour guide, she's a cheeky girl. Following her is Rhys, before reanimating he was unemployed. Next in line is Gwilym a local goverment councillor. Finally for today is Elwyn a professional rugby player. One more line and this first tray will be finished and I will have hit the halfway point of the zombies in this box.

That's all I got for this time dudes and dudettes. Remember the DUDE wants you all to "take it easy".

Oh before I forget "May the fourth be with you".
