MORE ZOMBIE MASHUPS.

FIVE MORE DRAG THEMSELVES IN TO FOLLOW THE HORDE.

THE UBIQUITOUS BACK SHOT.
A few more mash-ups for your viewing pleasure. Put these guys together from various plastic kits, namely WGF, Mantic and Studio. No cutting or putty just a kitbash really. Super simple to do, an idiot could do it. Oh I did!

Ok then on with the identity parade from Left to Right: Kicking us off is Selwyn an enthusiastic beachcomber. He comprises of WGF legs,Mantic torso, arms and head. Next is Taliesin (famous old Welsh poet) a dune crawler. He's made from a Mantic set of legs?, a WGF torso and arms, topped of with a Mantic head. In the middle of the group, on the last of the "beach" bases is Aled. Looks like too much lovely Welsh sunshine has had an effect on his skin, that or his face has been eaten. He's put together using Mantic legs?, WGF torso, Studio right arm and head. Following Aled is another dragger/crawler called Bedwyr put together from Mantic legs?, WGF torso and arms, completed by a GW demon head. Bedwyr has brought along a snack in case he gets peckish. Finally we have another hospital type zombie, a doctor in a white coat this time, it's Dr Caradog sporting an impressive exit wound.

Apart from more conversions and kitbashes this pretty much brings an end to my multi-part plastic zombies. Looks like I'll be putting in an application for pocket money from the wonderful Mrs.K, in the meantime I'll have to face my fears and crack on with my Zombicide figures. Ooh survivors!!

Until the next time, listen to the DUDE and "take it easy".

STUDIO PLASTICS 3. AND BIG THANKS.

Before the usual show and tell, it has come to my attention that this little blog has surpassed 2000 pageviews some time since my last post. To say that I'm stunned is an understatement. I must take this oppurtunity to thank everyone who takes the time to look, an even bigger thanks goes out to those who leave comments. The comments make the time and effort that goes into this all worth while and are quite inspiring at times.

It has also been brought to my attention that I have acquired two more followers namely Nobody667 and bekosh. A massive welcome to you both, strap yourselves in and enjoy the journey. It's going to take a while.

Now I'm not sure whether this is the right place to talk about this, it involves Google+. People have been adding me to their circle's (not sure what this means) so I guess I should thank those guys too. They are Francis "Angry Lurker" Lee, Simon Quinton, Ray Rousell,Steve Minnihan, Michael Awdry and Mark Anders. Thanks guys, I think.

THE LATEST STUDIO LADS SHUFFLE IN TO JOIN THE HORDE.
LOOK OUT! A FLYING DUMPSTER!?

Enough of the thanks, already. Shall we get on with the usual? I think it would be best. So here we go Left to Right: Our first zombie today is the once handsome Llywelyn, not so much now. He's had a head swap with a WGF male zombie. Next in line is Morgan, he look's like a sports fan. Following him is Owain another zombie in scrubs, can't have enough of these guys. Last in today's lineup is Rhodri, an estate agent(boo, hiss). You may have noticed that he has also had a head swap, this time with a GW demon. I think it makes him look like one of Pig Iron's Infected models.....

Until next, remember the DUDE wants you to "take it easy".

STUDIO PLASTICS 2

THE NEXT FOUR STUDIO PLASTICS LURCH IN.

AS USUAL THE REAR VIEW SHOWING I PAINT ALL THE FIGURE.
Not much action at the bunker this week, WNI(Wednesday Night Irregulars) had to be cancelled this week due to unforeseen circumstances. So no Zombicide fun. My painting has slowed to the gait of a lumbering zombie, not that it's blazing at the best of times. I have managed to finished the four studio plastics shown above.

Adding to the general lethargy was the complete disaster of my painting light malfunction. Luckily it turned out only to be the bulb, a two pin halogen, but what a pain in the arse performance it was to find a replacement.

Right, enough of my whinging and on with the usual introductions. Left to Right: First up today we have Emlyn who looks like he used to work out, just what us fatties need, fit zombies. Next in line is Garth sporting some natty combats, my first attempt at camo in nearly a decade, these were inspired by Mathyoo's insurgents. Following along is Hywel, from smartly dressed team leader to disheveled meat follower. Shame. Last but not least another zombie in scrubs, I want lots of hospital staff as they would be frontline at the start of the outbreak, he's called Idris.

On a painting note, I tried to pick colours to contrast with the skin tone and I've returned to giving them an overall wash instead of just the clothing. Looks much better IMO, feels safe too.

Until next time the DUDE wants you to "take it easy".

THE POSTMAN

Now before you think this is about the Kevin Costner's movie version, I'll have to disappoint you, this is about the far superior novel.

The novel was originally published in two parts, and I think that's where Mr Costner went wrong. The movie only covers the first part and leaves out a lot of the stuff that makes the novel a recommended read. The second part really takes it to the realm of award winning. OK, if by any chance you have not seen the movie, don't watch it before reading this novel. It spoils a good book.

The first part of the book tells the tale of a wandering bard in the post apocalypse trading performances of Shakespeare for a hot meal and a bed for the night. During his wanderings he literally stumbles across his postman's uniform, which he puts on to keep warm. He also finds a bag full of mail, which inspires his lie at the next settlement he comes across, he becomes a postman of an alleged Restored States of America. The lie snowballs out of his control due to peoples desperation to believe it.

The second part of the novel deals with the last sentient supercomputer called Cyclops and it's attempts to re-civilise starting with a small community. I'm not going to reveal too many details as it would spoil your fun. The second part also deals with the conflicts between the settlements and the "hypersurvivalists", and the intervention of an unexpected force. Again I don't want to spoil you fun by giving too much away.

I really enjoyed this novel, and can't recommend it enough. Even if you have seen the movie, which won quite a few raspberry awards, give this a chance and you won't be disappointed. I think this rates a score of 8 out of 10.

Until the next time, the DUDE wants you to "take it easy".

STUDIO PLASTICS NO.1

THE FIRST OF THE STUDIO PLASTICS SHUFFLE IN.

THE OBLIGATORY BACK SHOT.
The LEGEND that is Vampifan was kind enough to donate several sprues of Studio's to the cause of building my horde. These are the first of them. I hope you like them Bryan.

So the first two things that struck me about these figures was that they were quite short and they didn't have that many wounds. To remedy the first thing I based them on 25mm round plastic bases, tried to fill gap around the edge with filler which was mostly successful and then PVA and sand. For the second issue I drilled holes for bullet wounds and used a sharp craft knife to create others.

On a painting note I tried to keep the brown wash to just the clothing this time, to hopefully let the skin colours show a little better. Not sure what to think really, don't know if I like it or not. No, really don't like it.

Anyway on with the introductions, Left to Right: Starting off with casually dressed Afan who has a rather large exit wound, he has a head swap with a WGF male zombie. The next unlucky chap is Barri, who seems to have had a face peel. His skull needs more hilighting and his eye needs redoing, eyes seem to be my kryptonite. Cai is the zombie in the scrubs full of bullet holes. Who ever shot him didn't aim for the head, which is another swap for a WGF male zombie head. Finally bringing up the rear is a once smartly dressed office worker Dafydd.

Thanks to everyone who takes the time to look and comment.

Until next time take the DUDE'S advice and take it easy.

LAST OF THE GIRLS FOR NOW.

THE FINAL FOUR FOR NOW.

I'VE RUN OUT OF ARSE JOKES.
OK finally finished the vixens. Well nearly, got five left, but they were starting to all look the same. I had to stop to keep my sanity. Three of the five left are cheerleaders and I want them for something later so they will make an appearance at a later date. The other two, don't know yet. So I'm calling them done.

With out any more fuss let's get to the introductions.
Left to Right starting with the beautiful Gwen who has had a head swap with one of the WGF male zombies. Next in line is Nesta, who looks like she's got a headache.Following her is Baywatch Betsan, had to give at least one of the swimsuit bodies this colour and the float device, I couldn't resist it in the end. Finally we have Rhoswen, who can't let go of her last shopping trip's bargain's. On that point have you ever tried to tell a woman that a bargain still costs money?

Haven't been around much this week, thought I'd take a couple of days rest to recharge, and after the horde post it seemed like a good place to stop. Nothing to do with the whole nation being in mourning after losing to England in the Six Nations. Honest. Like the DUDE we will abide.

Until next time the DUDE wants you to take it easy.

THE HORDE SO FAR. IN HD.

YOU CAN HEAR THEM SHUFFLING OUT OF THE DARKNESS.

THE MOANS ATTRACT MORE AND MORE.

THE SMELL IS OVERPOWERING.

WHERE'S WALLY?

MORE AND MORE STUMBLE AFTER THE LEADERS

MAYBE IT'S TIME TO RUN!

HERE COME THE STRAGGLERS

THE SITUATION SEEMS HOPELESS.

THIS APPEARS TO BE THE LAST OF THEM FOR NOW.

EVERYBODY'S SHUFFLING.

ALTOGETHER IN ONE SHOT.
Somebody suggested that some "horde" photos would be a good subject for a post. It will also act as a record for my progress. So here they are in glorious HD.
The current status is 63 zombies painted, not too bad for a couple of months work I suppose. Still not a proper horde yet.

Nearly all the vixens are painted, only a few more to go, they felt like they were everlasting. I'm glad that I stuck at them now though.
I've got some Studio plastics to pile into now, hope to show some progress with them in a few posts time.

Well that's all I've got for now.You know how this goes by now, the DUDE says "take it easy".

WORST POST EVER!

OOPs. ARSE ABOUT FACE AGAIN
This post seems to have gone tits up. Not only are the pictures shit and in the wrong order, but I can't seem to post anything after my second picture either. Arse!
I'm very sorry about this but I lack the skills to fix it so we will have to muddle through.
Left to Right : Up first is a very nicely dressed business woman by the name of Glenda, her right arm comes from the WGF male zombie box. Next in line is the once beautiful Branwen now reduced to crawling after the crowd. Following along is Lowri, once fashion victim now just victim. Last up this time is Delyth, lovely girl Delyth.

I have to go now, time to prepare for the arrival of the WNI (Wednesday Night Irregulars) and an evening of zombie slaughter. So may be it's OK after all.

The DUDE has something different to say this time.

THESE GIRLS ARE A SHADOW OF THEIR FORMER SELVES.

Sunday 2 March 2014

GIRLS YOUR MUM WARNED YOU ABOUT

DO THESE GIRLS LOOK NEEDY ?

I LIKE BIG BUTTS AND I CANNOT LIE.

After the mayhem of St David's Day with the human sacrifices and other strange pagan rituals involving leeks and daffodils, things have calmed down enough to allow me to post.
Four more rotten lovelies shuffle in to join the growing horde. Well three and a half anyway.
Left to Right: First in line is Sian, she's another road swimmer from the local road swimming club. Next is Olwen, yet another nurse, apart from her sexy uniform you may notice she's a little different from the other girls. She was given a head from the WGF male zombies, which was then topped off by adding a couple of plaits taken from a GW space wolf scout. Following along is Cerys, bit of a messy eater is Cerys. Finally we have Gwen, life's become a bit of a drag for Gwen.
This post sees BZA enter it's third month, that's three months longer than I thought it would last, a big thank you must go to all who look and comment, you provide me with the motivation to continue.
A massive welcome goes out to Zombie Ad who has become my third follower.

Until the next time, you know what the DUDE says "Take it easy"
