STUDIO PLASTICS 2

THE NEXT FOUR STUDIO PLASTICS LURCH IN.

AS USUAL THE REAR VIEW SHOWING I PAINT ALL THE FIGURE.
Not much action at the bunker this week, WNI(Wednesday Night Irregulars) had to be cancelled this week due to unforeseen circumstances. So no Zombicide fun. My painting has slowed to the gait of a lumbering zombie, not that it's blazing at the best of times. I have managed to finished the four studio plastics shown above.

Adding to the general lethargy was the complete disaster of my painting light malfunction. Luckily it turned out only to be the bulb, a two pin halogen, but what a pain in the arse performance it was to find a replacement.

Right, enough of my whinging and on with the usual introductions. Left to Right: First up today we have Emlyn who looks like he used to work out, just what us fatties need, fit zombies. Next in line is Garth sporting some natty combats, my first attempt at camo in nearly a decade, these were inspired by Mathyoo's insurgents. Following along is Hywel, from smartly dressed team leader to disheveled meat follower. Shame. Last but not least another zombie in scrubs, I want lots of hospital staff as they would be frontline at the start of the outbreak, he's called Idris.

On a painting note, I tried to pick colours to contrast with the skin tone and I've returned to giving them an overall wash instead of just the clothing. Looks much better IMO, feels safe too.

Until next time the DUDE wants you to "take it easy".

  1. All great additions to the horde, you're right too about guys in scrubs being at the forefront of the outbreak - hope you're building a hospital too !

A hospital is definetly on the cards, may not be my first scenery build though, the card scenery looks like the way forward for me. Bryan's reviews and constructions are inspiring.

  2. Great work, I love the bright colours, I think it gives a nice contrast to the skin.
Glad I've inspired you, too! I really like the colours you've picked for the camo and it came out great, as well. Might be just lines from up close, but on those smaller shots, it looks fantastic.
To keep us even, I have to steal that bloody throat idea you did on your last zombie - what an awesome idea! He looks like he may have cut his own throat - but to no avail! Yikes!

Glad you like them. Steal away sir, part of the hobby is to inspire other people. Hope to see your take on it soon.

  3. I totally agree with Joe's and your own comments about hospital staff being in the front line of a zombie outbreak. These all look up to your usual high standards. A model hospital is on my own "to do" list but then, so are a lot of other stuff!

Hospital staff are a necessity. I quite like Grekwood's hospital staff and beds. Victory force has a nice first responders horde too. I would love to see your take on a hospital.

    2. I have Grekwood's hospital zombies and have painted them. Yay, me! I have his beds and hospital but have yet to get round to painting or making them. Likewise, I have all 100 of the Victory Force first responders. Again, they remain unpainted. Sigh, I just have far too much stuff to paint. Stoelzel's Structures make a nice small medical facility. It's called a hospital but really, it is far too small for a hospital.

    3. Is Grekwood's hospital the one he used in his zombie rules playtest, because that looked really good.
