What's occurring then?
Firstly, as has become custom I'll present you with another piece of zombie art. As I try and bring a little culture to the world of zombies.
Some of you may have noticed that it's another piece by the fabulous GRIMBRO. I know it's not a traditional zombie, she's demonicaly possessed but the Deadites in the later Evil Dead movies are undead. Besides she, sorry, I mean Cheryl (played by Ellen Sandweiss) (in the 1985 original) looks like a zombie, plus it's my blog and I'm saying she counts.
OK, so you may have noticed by the title that this post is about the rural fences I started last post. Well this week I made another half a dozen and then based them all.
I think it's a bit of an improvement so I'm calling this set of fences done.
First of all, I PVA'ed and sanded the matchstick bases. Then I painted and drybrushed the sand. A special mix of flocks was then sprinkled onto more PVA.
To further enhance the rural feel, I then applied some static grass and some of those tuft things. This also helped to cover any gaps that were left after the sand and flocking.
A bit of news, my official photographer has to go out on placement as part of his university course. This means that my posts will have to be curtailed to once a week, as I will only have his services on the weekends (and use of his stuff). This is only a hitch and the posts will still keep coming.
The final picture below shows all of the fence pieces, just to prove I made a dozen.
Well that's all I got for this time, so 'til next time do as the DUDE does and "take it easy".

TRY TO IGNORE THE HUGE FOREGROUND AND POOR LIGHTING. |

GOTTA KEEP THE ZEDS FENCED IN. |

THE FINAL FIELD OF ZEDS. |

AGAIN PLEASE EXCUSE THE POOR LIGHTING AND ENORMOUS FOREGROUND. |
Well that's all I got for this time, so 'til next time do as the DUDE does and "take it easy".
Looking good Bob. There's a real Zed Farm feel going on with those fences :-) Nice Grimbro find as well. That scene always scares the hell out of me!!! Great posting.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bk.
DeleteI really want to start my ATZ adventures in a rural setting.
The fences, although stolen from Zadabak, remind me of the farms in Survival of the Dead.
I remember watching Evil Dead when I was a youngster, we'd just got a video recorder (remember them). It was a Sunday afternoon and the whole family sat down to marvel at this new technology. It was pretty scary but more than anything, I remember my nan was not impressed with it. Lol.
Excellent news, you're farming zombies now!
ReplyDeleteThanks Michael.
DeleteWe gotta have something to do out in the sticks, right.
That must of been one heck of an episode of one man and his dog!
ReplyDeleteNicely done on the fencing. I'm painting some myself for a game, tomorrow (Monday).
Thanks Roy.
DeleteAfter all the years with sheep, zombies are not much more difficult. Besides, we've got special zombie dogs to round them up.
Nice fences, Bob. A simple photo editing program, like Picasa Photo Viewer (free to download) will allow you to cop your photos. I use it all the time for my photos. Did I mention it's free?
ReplyDeleteThanks Bryan.
DeleteI think I've already got that, just didn't know what it was for. I'll be looking into this photo copping, cheers DUDE!
I should have said "crop" not "cop". Oops, my bad!
DeleteI know dude, just messing with you.
DeleteGreat fencing, Bob. Although those corrals contain the strangest looking sheep I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteNice fences! And so many of them.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about posting once a week, you can still take enough photos for two posts on weekends and then distribute it between two posts :P.
Can't seem to reply to individual comments at the moment.
ReplyDelete@Finch. Thanks dude. Yes weird looking sheep indeed.
@Mathyoo. Thanks dude. But that would mean having enough stuff done for two posts.
Looking good there! Something really strange about a zombie farm.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mike.
DeleteIt's not my idea dude, I just made some fences.
They look great Bob your terrain skills are improving. If only we could fence the zombies in.
ReplyDeleteThanks Robert.
DeleteMaybe it's the way to survive.
So how long before the zombies break through these excellent fences ?
ReplyDeleteMaybe a couple of damaged ones could be an easy mini-project ?
Thanks Joe.
DeleteI have no idea TBH. Some damaged sections and a couple of gates are in the planing stage as I type this.
Cool fences Bob :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Andre.
DeleteThere will be more in future posts.
That ain't right ... everyone knows zombies have rights and should be roaming free. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks FEM.
DeleteWelcome aboard!
Lock 'em up and throw away the key, I say.
Nice but would only work with the slow ones!
ReplyDeleteThanks Fran.
DeleteThe fences are only meant as scenery pieces, this whole zombie farm thing kinda just snowballed.
I must admit to being a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to zombies, as in I prefer the slow ones.
