Well, well, well. I made it to a whole year blogging, I'm astounded, I didn't think things would get this far at the very beginning. But then I wasn't too sure what to expect tbh.
So, what was achieved this year. Not as much as I would have liked but things were set in motion. Like my attempt to bring a little culture to the world of zombies by introducing some art to the proceedings.
On that note I would like to present you with a piece by a different artist this time. This piece is by Bryan Baugh and is called From Soil 2. Enjoy!
Right then, continuing with what has been achieved. Well I managed to paint 160 zombies and one survivor. I also entered into the world of card modelling, my first foray resulted in the completion of 3 buildings of use and one that was too small a scale.
Other progress on the scenery front came as an experiment using coffee stirrers. Stealing an idea from Zadabak, I made a set of rural fences, which turned out quite well.
That about sums up the year's completed work. I still have loads of W.I.P. lying around.
Resolutions are things I don't tend to do, or even plan too far ahead. I find even the best laid plans rarely survive long when challenged with real life events and issues. What I will say, is that I had some survivors for Crimbo so they are getting painted. Everything else I'll get to in good time.
The response to my weekly nonsense appears to be quite well received, this year my humble little blog has clocked over twelve thousand views and got me some followers, thirty nine to be precise. I'm really not sure what to say except thank you very much. I do know that if it weren't for this, there wouldn't have been any models painted over the last couple of months.( There wasn't that many done but thanks, it got me over my miserable months.)
Well maybe there's a few more miserable months until the sun comes back. Anyhow here's my first three survivors from the Wargames Factory box.
Haven't really thought about names or backstories yet, that'll probably be established in the batreps. The middle dude bears more than a passing resemblance to the infamous serial killer Ted Bundy, kinda creepy!
I also thought the guy in the suit could double as a MIB or a Fed etc. The cops in this box will also be pressed into double duty until I can get more of both.
So hopefully this little spurt of productivity will continue and more stuff gets painted over the following weeks.
Well, that's all I got for this time dudes and dudettes. So until next time y'all try and follow the DUDE'S example and "take it easy".

YES, I'M STILL PAINTING THE BACKS OF THEM. |

You say you ain't got much, but I say you're going great guns ! These latest survivors are all excellent and very usable - time to put it all together in a min scenario methinks
ReplyDeleteThanks Joe.
DeleteI meant I didn't get as much done as I would have liked. A scenario is a good idea, I'll get my thinking cap on.
What a fabulous year in my opinion, I've certainly enjoyed all my visits here.
ReplyDeleteThanks Michael.
DeleteIf you say it was fabulous then so be it. Glad you enjoy visiting.
You are being too harsh on yourself, Bob. You've done really well, mate and should be proud of your achievements.
ReplyDeleteI haven't mentioned this before but I just want you to know that I certainly appreciate the zombie artwork you show on your blog. Keep 'em coming, please.
Thanks Bryan.
DeleteToo harsh, maybe. I lost my way a little in the middle of the year and the last two months I achieved almost nothing.
But I'll take praise from you anytime Dude!
Glad you like the art, don't worry it's not stopping.
160 zombies is nothing to scoff at! Fantastic work on the survivors. I also enjoy your musings of the dude and the art you share.! Happy Blog Day and looking forward to all of this years postings.
ReplyDeleteThanks Simon.
DeleteI guess the horde grew quite quickly.
Chalk one year down, more to follow.
Zombie Baseball! How far can you send a zombie's head flying?
ReplyDeleteI don't know which one I prefer. This, or zombie farming.
;)
Thanks Roy.
DeleteGreat idea we should form a league.
Although I do likes my farming.
Good looking survivors (the guy in yellow is a survivor, right? I mean with all that blood...) and I can't wait to see what trouble you get them into.
ReplyDeleteI am surprised you don't have a bowling team themed group of survivors. Yep, I just said that.
Thanks Steve.
DeleteWell if you play with chainsaw's your gonna make a mess. Splashback anyone? I'm sure they'll get into lot's of trouble.
Funny you should say that I've found a very cool bowling themed gang, something to do with Atomic Cafe. I'll have to see what I can do about getting my hands on them.
you have a zombie horde, some survivors and have made a good start to your board. A very productive year! What I found useful with the survivors box was to do the last 4 or 5 as unarmed civilians as you will probably need some in a game and it was the figure type I had the fewest (none!) of. Just a suggestion from someone who has just managed to cross the 'building enough stuff to play a game' threshold. Good luck in your second year. I always enjoy your content. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks CW.
DeleteGreat suggestion dude.
Let's hope this year is just as productive then.
Glad you enjoy dropping by.
The new survivors looks great dud.
ReplyDeleteand painting 160 zombies is alot of work, soo all i can say is great work keep it up :)
Thanks Andre.
DeleteI'll keep on keeping on then dude!
Congratulations on a milestone!
ReplyDeleteThe survivors are great, it's nice to see you have some of the good guys painted now!
Thanks Mathyoo.
DeleteJust a few. I don't think all my survivors are going to be good guys though!
These look great Bob! For some reason they remind me of airbrush art of the '80s.
ReplyDeleteThanks F.E.M.
DeleteThat's interesting, I only used a regular brush.
Sorry Bob. Not sure how I missed this update!?! Well done on a full year and that's a fantastic amount of Zeds you've amassed in so short a space of time. Really well done, and those survivors look superb. Great trio to start taking back those streets :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Bk.
DeleteNo worries dude! Yeah, need a proper horde for zombie gaming. Just need some streets now, for them to take back.
