THE HORDE GROWS # 3

Now that I've finished my season 1 Zombicide zombies, with the ultimate aim of using them for ATZ, I thought it would be a good idea to put them with my other zombies and take some pic's. They could then act as a record for my growing horde of zombies.
ALL TOGETHER IN ONE SHOT.
How many you ask? Well the final tally is 148, 149 if you include the abomination. I'm still wondering if this enough, especially after checking out Vampifan's massive horde. I can't believe how small the ones at the back look.
A VIEW FROM THE LEFT.
How hot has it been lately, too bloody hot to paint anything that's for sure. That's another reason for this post, my Zombicide heroes are undercoated but that's about it. Well 3 of them have their shoe's painted, not much progress for a weeks painting or should I say a weeks non-painting. I can't seem to leave the fan's area of effect.
AT THE BACK ON THE LEFT.
I'm going to have to do something about the bases on the Zombicide zombies, not happy with that look at all. I seen some nice pre-painted laser cut flagstone one's I really like, so I'll probably go with that. Pretty reasonable, £3 for 16 if IRC.
A VIEW FROM THE RIGHT.
Apart from that they are coming along nicely. I've even gone and bought the little stickers to put their names underneath their bases. That's Bryan's fault that is. It was a valid question though. He just asked me how do I remember their names.
AT THE BACK FROM THE RIGHT.
What I must do is buy some new wash as I ran out of my homebrew finishing off the Zombicide zombies. Eagle eyed viewers will have noticed  the Abomination is absent, I gave him the night off (not forgetting him at all).
SOMEWHERE IN THE MIDDLE.
Well I guess that's all I got for this time dudes and dudettes. So y'all take the DUDE'S advice and "take it easy".

  1. An impressive looking horde. Is it enough? Well I would say it is at least for now. After all in games you can recycle any dead ones. I personally think once you reach 100 you have reached Critical mass. But when as gamers have we ever used that as a reason to stop?

I was thinking along those lines but have you seen all the lovely zombies out there. I really should think about other things like scenery and survivors, or my goal of playing ATZ will never be reached.

  3. That's a mighty fine looking horde, Bob. And yes, it is a horde. Anything over 100 is a decent horde in my opinion. As Clint says, you can always recycle the dead ones to make more. But if you follow my lead, you'll never stop collecting zombies!
I do think you should get some survivors painted next. Scenery is always worth having and need not be too complicated. Just have fun and enjoy yourself.

Survivors are on the paint table as I type this.
I'm definitely having fun and enjoying myself.
I don't think I can stop collecting zombies!

  5. Dude, great looking horde!

If you want to improve the Zombicide bases, try just throwing a bit of texture on some, or painting a street marking or such on a few. That will help break up the plain bases, and should be cheap...

    Awesome zombies!

Yeah thought about that, but I really like the pre-painted laser etched flagstones from Sally 4th.
      Thanks again dude.

  6. That's quite a horde Bob, I hope you get to use a lot of them in a game. I'm all for having a lot of zombies on the table.

I hope I get to use them in a game, full stop. I really like the idea of a lot of zombies on the table.

I haven't painted anything else yet though. Got to be over 100 to be a real horde, Bryan said.

  9. Mightily impressive Bob! Make a plan sir, list out your ideal playset list and that take one step to paint, make or purchase the elements you want to fill in the gaps. I you focus on one thing at a time, survivors, terrain, cars etc. they'll all come to gether faster than you think

Good idea dude! With luck I'll have some card terrain to build by the end of the week. Got some survivors on the paint table. Heading in the right direction, just my impatience getting the better of me.

  10. That's a very impressive horde! The checklist of things is a good way to work your way through.Best starting place for terrain is some trees and walls. Once you have those, anything else is topping

Yeah, the checklist seems a great way to proceed. Trees and walls, not even on the list, Doh!

  11. Very impressive, I would say 149 is safely enough for just about any ATZ game. I've had five players and never broke the 100 on the table at once.

I haven't played ATZ yet so was unsure of the quantity needed.
